What is Student Council/SOS?

Student Council is an organization that is mostly run by students in an effort to create a community like environment on campus. Students plan and attend events, create positive posters, and spread awareness of drugs, alcohol and safety plans. As a part of Student Council, Spartans Out Serving (SOS) promotes volunteering in the local community.


How do I join Student Council? 

Any student at SLHS can register for an Annual Student Council/SOS Membership by paying the $20 dues and filling out the form through PayNGo. The form & dues must be received by December 1, 2021. After this date late registration is $25.

 How do I get involved?
General members participate in Student Council meetings and projects. General members have the option of choosing to follow the Participation track, the SOS track or both!  Students may participate in as many projects and activities as they desire.  The following committees are active on campus and meet twice a month to work on activities to improve varies areas of interest. See the calendars on the side links on the SLHS website for information regarding meeting dates and volunteer service verification dates.

 How do I track my hours?

*Hours must be entered within the same six weeks that they were completed.

**The deadline for each six weeks' hours are: September 23rd, November 4th, December 17th, February 18th and April 8th.​​
