Parent Library Volunteers

Volunteers help us in so many ways at the library! Do you have great attention to detail and enjoy putting books in alphabetical and numerical order? Then we have the perfect volunteer opportunity for you! Volunteer time slots will consist of a morning and afternoon block of around 2 ½ hours once per week. Volunteers help with shelving books, organizing, book checkout and checkin, etc. If interested, please contact our Library Clerk.

Birthday Book Club

Here is a fun way to celebrate your child’s birthday and to donate a book to the school library in your child’s honor! During your student’s birthday month, they will come to the library to select a brand new book that will then be checked out to them. If their birthday is May - August, we will celebrate their 1/2 birthday!

To participate in RAE's Birthday Book Club: please go to the Pay N' Go app or website.

Texas 2x2 Reading Program

The 2x2 Reading List is a product of the Children’s Round Table, a unit of the Texas Library Association. Each year the 2x2 Committee creates a list of 20 recommended books for children age 2 to grade 2. At RAE, students who read at least five of these titles can receive a special 2x2 reading tag!

Texas Bluebonnet Award Reading Program

The RAE Library is excited to invite all 3rd-5th graders to participate in a statewide reading incentive program called the Texas Bluebonnet Award program. Through this program, students read from a list of 20 books nominated by teachers and librarians across Texas.  Students who read at least five of these books and complete the form,  receive a special reading tag and are invited to vote for their favorite book.  These students will also receive our school's Bluebonnet Bash prize!
