About Katy Elementary

Katy Elementary is the oldest of KISD’s elementary schools. It sits on the same site as the first one-room schoolhouse built in 1898 to serve the prairie town site of Katy. The present school, built in 1965, was renovated and enlarged in 1989 and again in 1995 to accommodate the area’s growing population. Katy Elementary educates many generations of the original settlers

of the Katy area.  Katy Elementary has a strong sense of community and holds fast to the ideals of educating upstanding citizens for generations to come.

Mission Statement

Katy Elementary, in partnership with family and community, provides unparalleled learning experiences designed to help each child develop a lifelong love of learning and live an honorable, fulfilling life, prepared to create the future.
