KATY ISD 24 HOUR POLICY
Students with fever over 100 degrees, vomiting or diarrhea must be kept at home! Student must be free of any fever, vomiting or diarrhea WITHOUT medication for 24 hours before returning to school.
Students may NOT carry medicine with them at school-not even cough drops. If your child needs medicine at school, send a note completed by a parent or physician plus the medicine in the original container.
The official paperwork for medication can be found on the Katy ISD website. For information on Katy ISD health services and forms, select Katy ISD Health Services from the Quick Links box to the right.
Allergy season is here! Symptoms include sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and coughing that can lead to vomiting. To prevent symptoms from worsening and turning into an infection, please make sure your child is properly medicated on a daily basis before arriving at school in the morning.
Please pack an extra set of clothing, including underwear and socks, in a plastic bag for your child. Keep it tucked in your child’s backpack for emergencies.
Flat, closed-toe shoes, that lace up are much safer than sandals and flip flops and help prevent injuries.
