The Spirit of Cinco Ranch Cheerleader and Mascot Tryouts
If you are at all interested in finding out more about the cheer program, you must complete these two MANDATORY steps:
Attend the MANDATORY Candidate Tryout meeting on Monday (Jan 25) at 4:30pm in the CRHS Dance Gym or attend the parent meeting.
- This is for CANDIDATES ONLY! Parents must attend the parent specific meeting.
A parent or guardian must attend the MANDATORY Parent Tryout on Wednesday (27 Jan) at 6:00pm in the CRHS Dance Gym. (Enter through the main gym doors).
- At least one representative per candidate must be in attendance in order for your child to be eligible to tryout.
- Candidates do not attend this meeting UNLESS they were unable to attend the candidate meeting. If you can’t attend Monday’s meeting, you MUST attend this meeting alongside your parent to be eligible to tryout.

Tryout Clinic: Monday March 8th – Wednesday March10th
Tryout Day: Thursday, March 11th
CRHS Mascot Tryouts
Exact date will be given at the parent meeting, but will be the week of March 22nd.
Katy Virtual School
This summer, all high school original credit courses will take place online through the Katy Virtual School. Registration begins at 7:00am, Feb. 1. Students can register by visiting https://katyvirtualschool.org and clicking on the registration tab. The application will be open for Summer of 2021, as well as the 2021/2022 school year. CATS Hours Update for 2020-2021
There are new requirements for CATS hours for this year.
Freshman: 5 hour minimum
Sophomore: 10 hour minimum
Junior: 20 hour minimum
Senior: 30 hour minimum
Make sure you print out the log from the CATS link (to the right). Submit completed packet by the FIRST FRIDAY IN APRIL (FRIDAY, APRIL 2, 2021 BY 2:35PM) to the appropriate grade level principal's office.

The TESA Essay contest is open to any Texas high school student grades 9 - 12 who is a citizen of the United States and a resident of Texas. Download the application and essay topic at https://texaselks.org/scholarships/ and submit your application and completed essay no later than February 26, 2021. Scholarships of $1000.00, $800.00, and $500.00 will be awarded for the top three essays.
PTA Reflections Program
Do you enjoy art, music and dance or have an interest in writing, producing films and taking photos? Then join us and have fun unleashing your inner artist with PTA Reflections! This year's theme, "I Matter Because…," calls for your own unique interpretation through the arts. Please visit the CRHS PTSA website or check out the flier in this week's eNews Attachment. All entries must be virtually submitted by November 9.

Technology for KVA and In-person learning
All students may use their personally-owned laptops, computers and/or smart devices for in-person and KVA virtual learning. Parents with a child(ren) in need of a device, may request a device through the Student Device Request Form which will be available on the Smart ReStart webpage beginning on Thursday, August 6.
Campus check-outs will include distribution of all available devices requested via the Online New Student Enrollment & Registration, the Katy Virtual Academy commitment form, the Annual Student Update in PowerSchool and/or the Device Request Form.
Once the request has been submitted, the campus librarian will receive the request, prepare the device for checkout (as available), and send a confirmation email to parent(s) with information on date/time of pickup. Please allow up to 24 hours for confirmation email.
If you have any technology related questions, do not hesitate to contact the Parent and Student Technology Support Center.
Current School ID Required
Parents, please ensure that your child has their current school ID on a lanyard to wear around their neck while in the building. Starting Tuesday, August 20th, there will be a charge of $1 for each temporary ID that needs to be printed. If your child has lost their ID, they will need to buy a replacement. Replacement IDs are $3 and lanyards are $1 each. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Taking AP Course(s)??
who will be enrolled in AP courses in the 2019-2020 school year must establish
a College Board Student Account in order to access online resources for their
AP course and to register for the AP exams. Students who have not yet
created a College Board account should go to https://tinyurl.com/APStudentAccount
to begin the process. Students who already have a College Board Online
Student Account should have their access credentials available the first week
of the new school year.
The Cougar Den (school store) is now open during all lunches and after school. You can stop by the Cougar Den to grab a snack, buy spirit wear or get whatever school supplies, envelopes or stamps you need.
Future Business Leaders of America is accepting members for the new school year. FBLA is an organization that helps prepare students for real world professional experiences. Members get to attend exciting workshops and learn from business professionals, participate in community service activities, travel around the state and country and can earn scholarships, prizes and awards. Applications were included in the 1st day packet on the CRHS website and can also be picked up outside of Room 2504 and can be turned into Mr. Bryan, Ms. Perry, or Mr. Spier.
Friday 1/29/21 is the last day to submit applications for non-curricular clubs for this school year. Any new club applications after this date will not be approved and must be submitted again in August 2021.
