Important Dates and Information for 2020-2021 

Counselors' Office Spring Deadlines

The Counseling office put together a college application process presentation for you! We would normally meet with you through your government and economics classes but due to current safety guidelines we are unable to do.  Please Click Here to watch and listen to this presentation.  It will likely answer your college application questions.  We hope you are doing well!

 If you need a letter of recommendation from the counselor, you will need to complete the Recommendation Letter Packet.  Click Here for that packet . Email your completed packet with detailed information to your counselor.   The Counselors require a minimum of 15 School Days  to complete letters of recommendation and college application paperwork. Counselors will begin working on recommendation letters in September, and they will be completed in the order they are received.

Graduation requirements for the Foundation High School Program + Endorsement (FHSPE) include four math credits, which must include Algebra I and Geometry credits, and two additional math credits. Algebra II is not specified as a graduation requirement; however, students who do not earn Algebra II credit are not eligible for:   • Earning the Distinguished Level of Achievement (DLA), which requires completion of an endorsement with Algebra II among the four math credits,   • Recognition as an honors or high honors graduate,  • Automatic admission to a state public college or university, and • Certain financial aid opportunities, including the TEXAS grant or the Texas Educational Opportunity Grant.

Seniors!!

Carl B. and Florence E. King Foundation High School Summer Program in Biomedical Sciences  introduces interested and qualified

young Texans to a research environment and provides firsthand experiences in the varied career opportunities available at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston,

Texas, the nation's leading cancer research and treatment centers. A total of 7 students will be selected to participate in this ten-week program from June 7- August 13, 2021.

Students selected for the program are given a rare opportunity to participate in a research project in one of the biomedical disciplines under the guidance of a

full-time member of the MD Anderson faculty.  Emphasis is placed on the importance of the basic principles that form the foundation for scientific investigation.

Transcript requests:

  1. If you would like to view your student’s transcript, please check the HAC in the Grades tab.  An unofficial copy is posted there.  (You do not need to request a personal copy).

  2.  Seniors applying to college (Congrats!)- please fill out the Transcript Request Form and email it to FaraMinor@katyisd.org or MirianJRomero@katyisd.org. 

 

Tips:

  • Electronic transcripts can be sent to most PUBLIC Texas schools.

  • Registrars will mail official transcripts to other schools of choice. Payment can be made when your student returns to campus.
