Summer Swim Lesson and Water Safety Program

Red Cross Learn to Swim App

Swimming Lessons and Water Safety Program Description:

  • American Red Cross learn-to-swim lessons are open to children 6 – 14 years old (participants must be starting the first grade for the fall 2026 semester to be considered for this program).

  • Instructors are trained by American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors.

  • Lifeguards are on duty during all classes.

  • Each session consists of 8 days with 40-minute lessons per day.

  • All sessions are Monday – Thursday for 2 weeks.

  • All students will earn an American Red Cross level card at the end of the session, stating the next recommended level.

  • Morning and Evening Sessions will be at Morton Ranch High School and Tompkins High School.​

  • Water Safety and Swim Skills will be taught as part of the Red Cross curriculum.  Detailed level descriptions are provided on this page under "Resources".

  • The 2-Week Session Fee is $125 per participant.

Registration Information for Returning Participants:

  • Early Registration (for returning participants that have a Level Card): Early Registration opens May 1, 2026 at 9 am. All registration will be online through Pay N’ Go through your own device. Early Registration is for Session I Only. 

Registration Information for New Participants:

  • New Registration: All new participants will need to be swim tested before registering to determine their skill level.
    “Sign-Ups” for a swim test will start May 13th, 2026 at 9 am. A link will be posted on our SportsYou page.
  • Swim Test Dates: Tuesday, May 19, 2026 and Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Morton Ranch High School from 4:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.
  • Join us on the SportsYou app; to receive more information and updates. Information on joining SportsYou
    can be found on the "SportsYou Invite" flyer. Use code: BTN3-3XA2 to join SportsYou
  • Late Swim Testing: We will continue to offer swim testing throughout the season.
  • Cost: $125/per person/per session. Payments are accepted by credit card, debit card or echeck and only through Pay N’ Go.

Swim Testing

If you are new to our program and need a Red Cross Level Card in order to register, please schedule a swim test with us.  Swim testing dates are as follows:

Tuesday, May 19th, 2026 and Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Morton Ranch High School from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm.

Sign-Ups for Swim Testing will open May 13th, 2026.  Please refer to our SportsYou page for more information about swim testing.

Swim Lesson Staff will update parents throughout the summer regarding weather delays, pool closures, etc.

However, this platform will not be used by individual instructors giving progress reports to participants.
