Lifeguard Employees

Katy ISD strives to maintain a safe swimming environment for all our students and guests using any of the swimming pools at any of our high schools.  Our Lifeguards are trained through the American Red Cross Lifeguard program which provides certification to include:  Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid Skills. 

Our lifeguarding needs are year-round at Katy ISD.  Lifeguards can work at any of our nine high school natatoriums.  The hours are flexible and the hourly wage is very competitive.  Shifts range from a minimum of 2 hours up to 8 hours.  Our lifeguards make their own schedule and decide when they want to work and how many hours they want to pick up.  Schedules are posted 3-4 weeks in advance, so the employees have plenty of time to plan their schedules.  If you are currently certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard and wish to submit an application for Katy ISD, please go to the Human Resources Department webpage and apply on-line.  After your application is submitted on-line, email Sara Guthrie, Aquatics Coordinator, with your full name, date of birth, school name and grade level (if a Katy ISD student), this information will help find your application and speed up the hiring process.  Once applications have been processed by the Human Resources Department, applicants will receive an email with further instructions including an invite to the next New Hire Orientation.  This process can take up to 4 weeks, so please be patient while waiting to be hired.
