Thanks to this program, I was fast-tracked to becoming a certified teacher and will be stepping into a 3rd grade ELAR position after just seven months of being a candidate in Cohort 1. The instructors are highly knowledgeable in the field of education and are easily accessible. My instructor, Amy Russell, is an exceptional instructor whose support made all the difference in Katy's ACP program. Future candidates, if you're ready to transform your passion into a profession, this is where it begins. Porchea Butler

The Katy ISD TEA+CH ACP program was intense, yet rewarding. It was great to see classroom strategies modeled first-hand by the instructors and the opportunity to collaborate with peers made the learning process more meaningful.

As I stand in MY very first classroom, I'm honestly overwhelmed with gratitude. This program pushed me in ways I didn't expect. There were definitely moments of doubt and challenges along the way, but the support from both my peers and instructors made all the difference. I came in shy and unsure of what to expect, and I'm walking out a certified teacher with so much more confidence, and a backpack full of tools I know I'll be using for years to come. I can't recommend this program enough, and even more than that, I don't think I could ever fully express how thankful I am for each of the instructors who poured into us every step of the way.

Learning to teach young minds is an invaluable gift. This accelerated program challenged me to grow - examining not only what my students will learn, but also the practices, standards, and culture that make Katy ISD an exceptional district. You'll be supported in a collaborative environment that includes experienced instructors, as well as principals and staff from schools across the district.

I learned so much more than I ever expected with this program. I came expecting quality training from a highly regarded district, and I left with a deep sense of purpose, confidence, and a strong foundation to start my teaching career. The support from mentors and peers was real and ongoing; it felt like being part of a team that really wanted you to succeed. Every part of the program helped me grow both as a teacher and as a person. I am excited to take on the classroom with confidence and a whole folder of strategies that actually work. If you're looking for a place that values growth, equity, and community, you should absolutely check this program out!

I wanted to share positive feedback I received from the principal of my campus after I interviewed at Winborn Elementary when she called to offer me the job. Principal Frison and members of the 2nd grade team interviewed me, and she told me that they were all highly impressed with how much knowledge and preparation I came into the interview with, even as someone who does not yet have traditional classroom experience, particularly with being able to discuss small group strategies, best instructional practices, and differentiation. I believe I received this feedback due the excellent preparation we are given through this particular program.
