Transfers

To uphold the integrity of the Katy ISD TEA⁺CH Alternative Certification Program and to ensure the highest level of success for our candidates, we will accept a limited number of transfers from other alternative certification programs or those who have been previously enrolled in other alternative certification programs.  This limited transfer admission process requires that the applicant must not have taken any Texas teacher certification exams.  Applicants must be willing to complete our coursework and FBEs in full.

This approach allows us to maintain a cohesive and rigorous curriculum tailored specifically to our program’s standards. It also allows for program evaluation to determine areas for refinement each year.  By requiring candidates to complete our program in its entirety, we can guarantee that each participant receives consistent and comprehensive training, fully aligning with our instructional goals and professional expectations.

If you are an enrolled candidate with our program, and wish to transfer to another ACP, please complete Part A of the TEA Candidate Transfer Form and submit this form to Katye Shields at kathrynmshields@katyisd.org.  After completing Part B, this form will be returned to the candidate within 1-2 business days.
