GPA Requirements

An overall GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale on bachelor’s degree transcripts OR a GPA of 2.75 or higher in the last 60 hours of coursework on the most recent bachelor’s degree or higher will be required for standard admission into the Katy ISD TEA⁺CH Alternative Certification Program.

Applicants may be admitted to the program with an overall GPA of 2.5 – 2.74 on a 4.0 scale on bachelor’s degree transcripts OR a GPA of 2.5 – 2.74 in the last 60 hours of coursework on the most recent bachelor’s degree or higher if it is determined that the applicant has work, business, or career experience equivalent to a 2.75 GPA and passing TX-PACT test scores for the certification sought. Resumes and references will be used in making this determination. This exception to the minimum GPA requirement of 2.75 requires approval by the EPP and Recruitment Coordinator. Applicants with a GPA below 2.5 will not be accepted into the program and will not be eligible for an exception.
