Academic Advising
Academic Advising supports students in developing and achieving their educational, career, and personal goals. Through a collaborative process involving students, families, counselors, and educators, academic advising helps students make informed decisions about courses, graduation requirements, college and career readiness, and postsecondary opportunities.
Aligned with the Texas Comprehensive School Counseling Program, academic advising promotes student success by helping students understand the connection between their interests, academic choices, and future aspirations. Students receive guidance in creating and monitoring personalized plans that support academic achievement, career exploration, and preparation for life after high school.
Academic advising empowers students to take an active role in their educational journey, develop self-advocacy skills, and graduate prepared to pursue college, careers, military service, or other postsecondary pathways.
