Katy Independent School District

Attendance Boundary Modification

Shafer & Stanley Attendance Boundary Modification

Balancing Capacity Between Shafer and Stanley

The proposed recommendation below was approved by the Katy ISD Board of Trustees on January 21.

In December 2013, the District's demographic consultant, Population and Survey Analysts (PASA), provided an attendance boundary recommendation for elementary schools #36 (in Pine Mill Ranch) and #37 (in Cross Creek Ranch).

As part of the feedback regarding the ABM for these two new schools, there was input requesting that a closer look be taken at balancing enrollment between Shafer and Stanley Elementary Schools. This input came from a variety of sources including the last Board meeting open forum, the District's ABM survey, and individual emails and phone calls to the District.

Several possibilities for balancing enrollment at Shafer and Stanley were provided to the Katy ISD Board of Trustees at the Dec. 9 Board meeting, with the following being the one recommended by PASA:

Transitioning from Shafer Elementary to Stanley Elementary

  • LUZ 74J Oak Forest
  • LUZ 74K Oak Forest

Transitioning from Stanley Elementary to Shafer Elementary

  • LUZ 74A Westheimer Lakes North
