Meet the Counselor

I am so excited about serving as the first School Counselor of Youngblood Elementary!  

I believe collaboration is at the heart of what we do and I am happy to partner with teachers, staff ,and parents to support the social, emotional, and academic needs of our students. In addition to being a certified School Counselor and Special Education Teacher, I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor and School Psychologist. My background has afforded me a variety of clinical and school-based experiences, allowing me to bring a well-rounded view to supporting the needs of our students. This year, I am celebrating my 18th year as an educator and I am proudly serving my 10th year in Katy ISD. My time serving the Katy community has been one like no other.  I am proud to have been recognized as the 2022 Elementary Counselor of the Year. There is no recognition greater than the success of my students. I love knowing that I get to be a part of such an important part of their lives. Beyond school, some of the most special people in my life are my husband, our four children, two of whom are also part of the Youngblood Elementary family. During my free time, I love spending time with my family, reading about nutrition, health, wellness, and exercise.
