Katy Independent School District football coaches and student players received a well-deserved spotlight during this year's Touchdown Club of Houston 2020 UIL High School Awards Dinner. Just days after the Katy High School Tigers won their ninth state championship title, the school's Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach, Gary Joseph, received the award of the night, when he was named the Coach of the Year by the organization. Additionally, Tompkins High School (OTHS) Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach Todd McVey was named the Coach of the Year finalist.

Several Katy ISD athletes were also recognized for their hard work in the sport as well as their commitment to maintaining excellent grades throughout the school year. Recognitions include:

Julius Loughridge – Mayde Creek High School - Offensive Player of the Year Finalist
Bryce Foster – Taylor High School – Offensive Player of the Year Finalist
Jalen Milroe – Tompkins High School (December 2020 graduate) – Offensive Player of the Year Finalist

The Touchdown Club of Houston is an organization dedicated to the sharing of fellowship through football. The members support football teams at all levels and in different geographic areas.
