Information & Technology Services
Katy ISD, on the forefront of educational technology in Texas for several years, now ranks among the 12 percent of school districts in the United States designated as high technology districts by the CEO Forum.
Katy ISD's advancement in technology began in 1992 when a proactive Board of Trustees approved a 5-year technology plan to establish and maintain instructional technology. This included increased teacher training to empower students with effective learning skills. Today, Katy ISD students have one computer in every classroom and use the computer labs at least once a week. With the growth of the Internet, however, and the access to information worldwide, the use of technology in the school environment is expanding as fast as the development of technology itself.
