Establishment

To ensure sufficient security and protection of the students, staff, and property of the District, the Board of Trustees authorized the formation of the Katy Independent School District Police Department during the regular open meeting of December 1988.

Mission

The Katy Independent School District Police Department, through a balanced, cooperative partnership with students, staff and community, shall provide the central and campus administration specialized services, strengthening their ability to prepare students for the changes and challenges of the future.

Jurisdiction

The jurisdiction of Katy ISD peace officers is all territory within the geographical boundaries of the District and all property, real and personal, outside the geographical boundaries of the District that is owned, leased, or rented by or otherwise under the District's control.
