Work Orders: Requests for repair work are sent by each school through a web based maintenance management program (School
Dude), to the Maintenance & Operations Department. On a daily basis, each of twelve maintenance Supervisors approves and prioritizes work to be done by trade specialty in their schools. Each school can track the progress of any work order at any time. Once complete, all time and materials used for each work order are entered into the system and can be tracked by facility.
Work orders include a wide variety of crafts and tasks, including electrical, plumbing, grounds, athletic fields, landscaping, equipment repair, painting, locks, roofing, heating & air conditioning, IAQ, pest control, minor construction, signage, and safety issues. Preventive Maintenance work orders are also entered into the system and are automatically generated on a timely basis in order to maintain equipment and prevent breakdowns, saving the district money. The various types of equipment that are included in preventive maintenance work orders are: roofs, kitchen equipment, scoreboards, water pumps, chillers, generators, fire systems and extinguishers, air dryers, cooling towers, hvac filters, and boilers. The Maintenance department has completed over 18,000 work orders in the eight months since converting to School Dude on March 1st of 2007.
