Description:

West Memorial Elementary School was the last elementary school in the District which was predominantly open concept with respect to general classroom spaces. The West Memorial Elementary School Open/Closed Concept consisted of two phases. Both phases began in May 2004. Phase I included the administration offices, cafeteria, gymnasium, and temporary classroom configuration as well as driveway/parking modifications. Phase I was completed in July 2004. The students were accommodated from August to December in a temporary village comprised of scholastic cottages until construction of Phase II completed. Phase II finished the classroom sector of the facility. Phase II was completed in December 2004.
