Throughout the year, Katy ISD students show their appreciation for the work the school board does through various means including thank-you notes and letters, posters, and hand-made gifts. As part of Board Recognition Month in January, the Morton Ranch High School 10th grade student council presented the Board with special gifts, and the Katy Council of PTAs presented student artwork to each of the members. In addition, the Board was treated to a musical performance by the cast of Oklahoma from Mayde Creek High School, and a video performance from the Bear Creek Elementary show choir. A proclamation from the City of Katy was also read.
