Logistics and Information

Goals:
Participants in the Academy can expect to:

• Enhance knowledge and skills to increase student success;
• Become acquainted with Katy ISD’s culture, expectations, vision and resources.

Times:
Please plan to arrive at Katy High School by 7:45 a.m. on August 9^th and 10^th in order to enjoy a continental breakfast prior to the start of the General Session in the Katy High School Commons.  Our theme this year is “Kickin’ Off Careers in Katy ISD” so feel free to wear your jeans.

Attendance:
Teachers are strongly encouraged to attend both days.  Please consult your principal if you have questions regarding your attendance. 

Lunch:
Participants will be provided a catered lunch both days. Katy ISD Superintendent, Mr. Frailey,  will speak on August 9^th. On August 10^th participants will have an opportunity to meet District Specialists and Lead Mentors.

Academy Sessions:
Sessions will focus on how to create a learning environment that meets the needs of all students; how to plan, teach and assess in ways that lead to student success; and how to maintain a well-organized classroom conducive to learning.
