The New Teacher Program has carefully woven several components into the fabric of the Summer, Fall and Spring Academies.

 Summer Academy

The Summer Academy, August 6th and 7th, focuses on those professional responsibilities, instructional plans, classroom management and critical student / parent relationships that will make the transition into the classroom a smooth one for teacher, students and parents.

  • Instructional Strategies That Build Collaborative Learning
  • Planning for Teaching and Learning Success
  • Strategies For Meeting the Diverse Needs of Low Income Students (Ruby Payne Based Philosophies)
  • Behavior Management Prevention vs. Remediation
  • Introduction to Love & Logic

 Fall Academy

The Fall and Spring Academy blends research-based instructional practices with practical application and experience. The five-session offerings include emphasis on classroom management, organizational functions, and the introduction of instructional methodologies that target diverse learners and culturally relevant strategies.

  • Cooperative Learning & Multiple Intelligences
  • Assessing Learning
  • Observation of Master Teacher
  • Effective Teachers Guide to Classroom Organization
  • New Teacher Academy Graduation
