Business Promise fulfills its mission of
increasing community participation in Katy
ISD schools by sponsoring two annual events,
Walk a Mile in My Shoes and
Promise to Read, and co-hosting Brown
Bag Lunch presentations with area
businesses.

Financial support for the
Katy Business Promise and its programs
is provided by the community through
membership. To join, please complete
the membership agreement and mail it
with your membership dues to the Katy
Business Promise address listed below. |

Volunteer for Walk a Mile in My Shoes,
One-day teacher/business exchange
pairing community volunteers with a
classroom teacher based on curriculum.
Business volunteers visit the Walk a
Mile
campus and actually teach two class
periods. On a subsequent day, teachers visit
their business partners work to see
firsthand application of their
curriculum. Walk a Mile is
hosted every spring at various Katy ISD
secondary campuses.

Volunteer for Promise to Read.
During Promise to Read, volunteers visit
a Katy ISD elementary campus and spend
30 minutes reading to a class.
Promise to Read is sponsored every
November at various elementary schools. |

Co-host a
Brown Bag Lunch
presentation. Co-hosted by the Katy Business Promise
and sponsoring business, Brown Bag offers workplace
presentations to KBP member employees. A
variety of topics, including educational
trends, homework tips, and innovations
and insights are presented by Katy ISD
administrators and department directors. |
