District Transfer

The transfer office is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 am to 4 pm. Applications are to be completed by a parent or person standing in parental relation to the student. Please select the appropriate transfer application from the five forms listed below. Complete the appropriate application online, print, sign and submit it to either the campus principal or the Student Transfer Office along with the non-refundable fee of $35 ($10 for employees). Intradistrict Transfer Application

Complete this application if you are requesting a transfer from a school in one residential attendance zone within the District to another school within the District. The campus Principal will forward the application to the Student Transfer Office for processing.

Renewal Application for Intradistrict Transfer

This application is to be completed for students staying at the same level (Elementary to Elementary; Jr. High to Jr. High; High School to High School) who have a previously approved transfer. The campus Principal will forward the application to the Student Transfer Office for processing. This application must be submitted between Feb 1 and May 1 for the upcoming school year.

Application for Interdistrict Transfer for Eligible Employees' Children

This application applies ONLY to children of full-time employees who do not reside in Katy ISD and who were hired prior to February 26, 1996. The campus principal will forward the application to the Student Transfer Office for processing.

Application for Interdistrict Transfer for Remainder of Semester/Year

This application is to be completed for a student who moves out of the District during the current school year and is requesting permission to complete the current semester in Katy ISD. High School seniors may request to complete their education in Katy ISD as long as they have not been and do not become discipline or attendance problems. In addition, eligible full-time employees who move out of the district may request permission for their children to remain in Katy ISD until the end of the school year. Application must be submitted as soon as the date is determined that the student will cease (or has ceased) to be a resident of Katy ISD. The campus Principal will forward the application to the Student Transfer Office for processing.

Families currently living in Katy ISD

Families in the process of moving into any attendance zone in Katy ISD may enroll students early in the attendance zone of the future residence provided that the closing and move to the new residence will occur within the specified timeline and proper documentation is submitted. In addition, parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from school if early enrollment is granted. Prior to becoming official residents of the new campus, students who become discipline problems or who have a documented pattern of late arrivals, late pick ups and/or poor attendance may be withdrawn from that campus. This application will be processed at the campus.

You will need to print, complete, sign and take the application with you, along with the $35 processing fee ($10 for district employees), to the campus of your future residence to enroll your child(ren). You will be required to provide the campus Registrar with proof of residence when you enroll your child(ren). A separate application must be completed for each child. Fee must be paid by cash or money order (payable to Katy ISD).
