Qualifications for Transfers Include:

  • Requests for students staying at the same level (Elementary to Elementary; Jr. High to Jr. High; High School to High School) who have a previously approved transfer must submit an on-line renewal transfer request annually. Payment (cash or money order) must be made to the current campus before the renewal transfer process will be reviewed by the District Student Transfer Office.
  • Requests to transfer children of full-time employees who do not reside in Katy ISD and who were hired prior to February 26, 1996 must  be submitted on-line as noted above and payment (cash or money order) made to the campus for processing by the District Student Transfer Office.
  • Requests for a student who moves out of the District during the current school year and is seeking permission to complete the current semester in Katy ISD. High School seniors may request to complete their education in Katy ISD as long as they have not been and do not become discipline or attendance problems. In addition, eligible full-time employees who move out of the district may request permission for their children to remain in Katy ISD until the end of the school year. Application must be submitted on-line as soon as the date is determined that the student will cease (or has ceased) to be a resident of Katy ISD. Payment (cash or money order) must be made to the campus before the transfer process will be reviewed by the District Student Transfer Office.
  • Families in the process of moving into any attendance zone in Katy ISD may enroll students early in the attendance zone of the future residence provided that the closing/lease agreement and move to the new residence will occur within the specified timelines and proper documentation is provided along with an online request application and payment (cash or money order) made to the campus. In addition, parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from school if early enrollment is granted. Prior to becoming official residents of the new campus, students who become discipline problems or who have a documented pattern of late arrivals, late pick-ups and/or poor attendance may be withdrawn from that campus. The proof of closing and finance must be submitted to the campus of future residence.
