How to Become a Substitute in Katy ISD
We will not be interviewing or testing for substitute positions from February through May of 2010. We will resume the testing and interviews in June of 2010. If you have completed the online application and are interested in substituting for Katy ISD, please click on the SubBlitz Registration link below to enroll for a summer SubBlitz session. If the current session is filled please check back in April and May as additional SubBlitz Registration sessions will be added at that time. We thank you for your interest in substituting for Katy ISD.

(References and evaluations are not required if you are only applying for a Substitute position. Please remember to send in your signature page and a copy of your transcripts, High School diploma or GED)
- SubBlitz Registration
Once you complete the online application, you will need to register for a SubBlitz. If you are approved to substitute after you attend the SubBlitz then you will be invited to attend a New Substitute Training.
- 60 minimum semester/quarter hours completed for Substitute Teacher positions
- GED or High School Diploma for Paraprofessional positions (clerical/aide)
- Proof of right to work in the U.S.
- Criminal History Check Required
- Interview and Skills Test
Other Information for Applicants:
- All substitutes are required to attend a mandatory district training.
- New substitute paper work to bring to the initial training.
