Step One

Your teacher will place you in groups of three. You and your group members will decide who will be the advocate for each point of view. (Native American, Mexican, United States)

Step Two

Using the Resources page,

1.         Read the articles under Manifest Destiny.

2.         Read the article/s for your point of view.

Your teacher will let you know which reading strategy to use. Create a free form map during/after reading to prepare for the next step.

Step Three

Gather with the people in your class who are representing the same point of view. For 10 minutes, exchange ideas with others and finish your free form map. (This will be part of your grade.)

Step Four

Using Microsoft Publisher, create a persuasive flyer representing the point of view you have chosen. See the Rubric page for further details.

Step Five

Present and discuss your flyer with your group of three.  See the Conclusions page if you need help with discussion questions. You should defend your point of view to the other two members in your group.
