· Advertisements-The barbed wire and windmill companies have paid for advertising space. You will need to create two ads to sell their products.

· Classifieds-Create a help wanted ad for Spindletop.

· Editorial-You are outraged about the close of the frontier. Write an article that expresses how you feel. Be sure to include political, social and economic effects.

· Lead Story-The main story in your paper will be about the impact of the railroad in Texas. Be sure to include political, social and economic effects.

Online Discussion Board

· Participate in a teacher-monitored discussion board. Questions posted for student response will be subject related.

Cattle Brands

· Create a rustler-proof cattle brand that is a reflection of you.
