ECI Project TYKE

ECI Project TYKE is an early Childhood Intervention Program that is available to children and families that reside within the Katy Independent School District. ECI Project TYKE assists families in identifying and addressing concerns related to their childs development.  Children from ages birth to three years of age may be eligible for services if they are experiencing a delay in one or more of the following areas: cognition, gross or fine motor, language or speech, social, emotional, or self-help skills.  Children may also be eligible if they have a diagnosed condition that is known to lead to delay, such as Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy or Spina Bifida; or if they exhibit atypical developmental patterns in sensory motor responses or behavior as determined by a qualified professional.

The program is funded by a grant from the Texas Early Childhood Intervention Program; Medicaid, insurance and Family Cost Share collections; and support from the Katy Independent School District. Services are provided in the familys home or child care facility and are individualized to meet the specific needs of the eligible child and family.  The child and family are supported by professionals who may provide evaluation; occupational, physical and speech therapies; nutrition, developmental services, service coordination, and family training, support and counseling. To refer a child or for additional information, call 281-237-6647 or e-mail Martha Aki.
