Systems Engineering provides technical operational support in a wide range of technologies to Katy ISD's rapidly growing customer base. This team is focused on making the district better by helping administrators, educators and students with reliable systems and application support.
Currently we support over 350 servers on both physical and virtual platforms. Approximately 60% of the servers are virtualized, providing a smaller more energy efficient footprint while increasing reliability and availability.
Systems Engineering supports all Katy ISD enterprise applications. This includes email and web applications such as eSchoolPLUS, Munis, Kronos, Eduphoria and SharePoint. Support is also provided for database systems, file sharing, print services, and application virtualization. Additionally, this group is responsible for deployment of Operating Systems, images, Windows and security updates.
