The Project Management department is responsible for planning and implementing district wide technology initiatives which support the digital generation. Large scale technology projects require concentrated planning and coordination with campuses, vendors, and district personnel to ensure that outdated technology is disposed of and new technologies, including computers, tablets, Smartboards, and other peripherals are installed without interruption to instructional time. The Project Management team coordinates training so teachers, staff, and students can take advantage of their new technologies soon after implementation.
In addition to retrofit, new construction and other large scale campus projects, the Project Management team assists district departments with technology projects by providing assistance with purchasing and planning for implementation. Financial and accounting duties for bond projects and other technology initiatives are managed in the Project Management department. E-Rate funding is managed through the office of Project Management in cooperation with the Technology Operations Department.
Project Management's goal is to deliver district defined standard technology to staff and students, on time, within budget and without interruption to the instructional day.
