Professional Learning

Out of District Professional Learning Credit

Because of the diversity of training needs, Katy ISD accepts attendance at conferences and workshops outside the district, including college coursework (maximum 6 semester units per year) for professional learning credit.  The focus of the course(s)/training(s) must specifically relate to the current job assignment as approved by the district. District approval process must be followed to earn credit.

Note: An Out of District Request form is required, along with proof of attendance, for the issuance of credit to your transcripts for professional learning hours earned.

Steps for processing:

  1. Attendance at conferences, workshops or seminars must be directly related to currently assigned responsibilities

  2. Complete all applicable information on the Out of District Request Form.

    • Incomplete form or missing documentation will delay processing of request

  3. Submit form to campus principal for approval signature

  4. Upon completion of training, provide this document and a copy of the certificate issued to you for processing to Candace Jorgensen to add your PD hours to your transcript records into Eduphoria.

***Be sure to keep copies of certificates for your personal records. ***
