General Manager of Special Events, Reservations, & Marketing
Ben Rolens currently serves as the General Manager of the Special Events, Reservations, & Marketing department for the Katy Independent School District. In addition to managing the day to day operations of the Leonard E. Merrell Center, Ben is responsible for the community use of Katy ISD schools and the district's sports marketing and advertising program.
A graduate of Baylor University, Ben holds a B.B.A in Finance and an M.S.Ed. in Sport Management. Ben is a member of the International Association of Venue Managers, The National Center for Spectator Sport Safety and Security and has completed training at the Academy for Venue Safety & Security. Prior to coming to Katy ISD, Ben worked in outside sales for a Houston based sporting goods company and as a Sales & Use tax consultant based in Cleveland, Ohio.
Ben and his wife Caitlin, a Junior High Athletic Coordinator for Katy ISD are the proud parents of four daughters.
The Special Events, Reservations, & Marketing Department within the Katy Independent School District (Katy ISD) exists to serve the District, the Katy community, and the surrounding areas by: creating a service-oriented experience for patrons with diverse entertainment offerings at the Leonard E. Merrell Center; facilitating the use of Katy ISD facilities for community events, and partnering with local companies to cultivate a connection within the community, all to better serve the students of Katy ISD.
