Now Hiring Lifeguards
Katy ISD strives to maintain a safe swimming environment for all our students and guest using any of the swimming pools at each of the seven high schools. Our Lifeguards are trained through the American Red Cross Lifeguard program which provides certification to include: Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid Skills.
Our lifeguarding needs are year-round at Katy ISD. Lifeguards can work at any of our seven high school natatoriums. The hours are flexible and the hourly wage is very competitive. Shifts range from a minimum of 2 hours up to 8 hours. Our lifeguards make their own schedule and decide when they want to work and how many hours they want to pick up. Scheduled are posted 3-4 weeks in advance so the employees have plenty of time to plan their schedules. If you are currently certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard and wish to submit an application for Katy ISD please follow the instructions posted in the right column under the title "Lifeguard Hiring Process". After your application is submitted on-line contact Sara Guthrie, Aquatics Coordinator by email for further instructions. Once the applicants are finished with the hiring process they will need to attend a "New Hire" Orientation. Orientations are usually scheduled for Thursdays once a month. Be prepared for orientation by completing the forms: "Information Sheet" & "Lifeguard Manual" (last page is a signature page). These forms can be completed and emailed before orientation or brought with you. We will also need a copy of your Lifeguard Certificate on file before you attend Lifeguard Orientation.
If you have questions about the hiring process please contact Sara Guthrie, Aquatics Coordinator either by phone 281-396-7779 or email SaraNGuthrie@KatyISD.org.
