The Native American Village
The Native
American Village is a clearing in a wooded area which
serves as a site for the second grade "Living
with the
Indians"
lesson. The specimens, artifacts, and other teaching
materials for the learning stations are transported from
the history classroom and "set up" each morning by
volunteers. After the lesson, the volunteers take down
and put away the items. The site includes benches for
seating students, teepee, fire rings, drying racks, hide
tanning area, painting area, garden area, birdhouse
gourds, and more.
