Students Arriving at the OLC
The levels
targeted to visit the OLC are second, fourth, and seventh
grade. Lessons are being developed for 5th and 8th grade
classes on an optional basis.
All second grade
classes are scheduled in the fall semester and all fourth
grade classes in the spring semester. Students are bused
from their campuses. Two classes are scheduled in the
morning and two classes in the afternoon. The time at the
OLC is divided equally between science and social studies
lessons.
Seventh grade students
visit the OLC during both the fall and spring semesters.
These grade levels visit as a team group which involves
110-135 students. The teams remain at the OLC the entire
day. Various science, social studies, math, and language
arts activities are being conducted simultaneously and
the students are scheduled to rotate among the activities
during the day.
