Inc. is an international program dedicated to the
enhancement of the learning skills, creative problem
solving skills, team skills, sportsmanship and knowledge
of all students. Research skills and time management
skills will also be strengthened by participation in the
program. Destination ImagiNation® will provide support
for the teams, their managers, and those who coordinate
the training for team managers, officials, and
volunteers who coordinate the competition.
The goals of
the Destination ImagiNation® are to:
√
Foster
creative and critical thinking
√
Learn and
apply creative problem solving tools
√
Develop
teamwork, collaboration, and leadership skills
√
Nurture
research and inquiry skills
√
Enhance and
apply communication and presentation skills
√
Promote the
recognition, use, and development of many and
varied
strength and talents
√
Encourage
competence in, enthusiasm for, and commitment to
real-life
problem solving
In support
of these goals, Katy Independent School District (KISD)
sponsors Destination ImagiNation® (DI) teams at
participating campuses. DI will be conducted as an
extra-curricular activity within KISD.
Campus
administrators will decide if the campus will
participate in the DI program, based on student interest
and available parent volunteer team managers. |
