Homebound/Hospital Services
Purpose
Homebound Services are designed to provide continuity of educational services between the classroom and the home/hospital setting for students whose medical needs prevent school attendance on a campus.
Explanation of Services
A certified teacher will provide instruction for students who qualify for Homebound Services. Determination of services is based on individual student needs. Students must be served two to four hours each week in order to meet Compulsory Attendance requirements. Instructional accommodations will be made in accordance with the severity of the accident or illness.
Eligibility
Any student who is served through the Homebound Program must meet all of the following three criteria:
- The student's condition must be medical only.
- The student's medical condition must be documented by a physician licensed to practice in the United States.
- The student must be expected to be confined at home or hospital bedside for a minimum of four weeks.
