Katy ISD Hosts Bus Driver Job Fair
(August 19, 2012) – Katy ISD is hosting a job fair for individuals interested in becoming bus drivers on Friday, August 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Morton Ranch High School. Driver responsibilities include driving a school bus on a split shift in a safe manner ensuring that students arrive at school and home on time. The starting wage for Katy ISD bus drivers is $13.31 an hour.
To become a Katy ISD bus driver, applicants must be 21 years of age, hold a high school diploma or G.E.D., and possess a driver's license. They must also obtain a commercial driver’s license and endorsements and pass the Texas bus driver's training course. Katy ISD provides both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction. Daycare is available for drivers with children that are 18 months through elementary school age.
