Katy ISD FFA Livestock Show & Rodeo
(Feb. 7, 2012) – The 2012 Katy ISD FFA Livestock Show & Rodeo will celebrate its 69th year beginning
Wednesday, Feb. 22 through Saturday, Feb. 25, at the L.D. Robinson Pavilion located at I-10 and FM 1463 (next to the Merrell Center) in Katy. Sponsored by WEST Engineering, the rodeo will kick-off its 2012 season with the opening of the carnival and Katy ISD area Students’ Spirit Night on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. Pro Rodeo performances are scheduled for all three nights, Thursday through Saturday, starting at 7:00 p.m. The Katy Rodeo is the oldest community rodeo of its kind, and is held in conjunction with the district’s annual FFA livestock show.
This year’s rodeo includes a full line-up of events, including calf scramble, mutton bustin’ and stick horse races for youth each night, followed by traditional bull riding, saddle bronc & bareback riding, team roping and more. The Katy Rodeo was named “Cowboys Choice” Rodeo of 2010 by CPRA.

The annual Katy ISD Livestock Show & Rodeo Parade will take place on Saturday, February 25, at 9:30 a.m., along the route from Rhodes Stadium to the Leonard E. Merrell Center. This year’s parade theme is “Oh the places you will go.” Parade marshals for 2012 will be the Family of E.B. and John Nell Monigold.
