The Jason Learning Argonaut Adventure might be a good fit for you. One Katy ISD student (age 13-17 on June 1st, 2018) and one Katy ISD secondary teacher will be selected to participate in an all-expense paid Argonaut Adventure this summer. Voters Approve Katy ISD $609.2 MM ReferendumVoters Approve Katy ISD $609.2 MM Referendum2017-11-08T17:00:35Z<div class="ExternalClassAC729317CC50426DB3BDEC71E3C3AF37"><p><span style="text-align:justify;">On Tuesday night, voters approved the Katy Independent School District's 2017 bond which will provide relief to campuses managing a rapidly growing student population, along with renovations and improvements for 61 campuses.</span><span style="text-align:justify;">  </span><span style="text-align:justify;">According to unofficial results, the $609.2 MM bond passed by an approximate 65% voter approval.</span><span style="text-align:justify;">  </span><br></p><p style="text-align:justify;">"Katy ISD is the second fastest growing school district in the state of Texas," said Superintendent Lance Hindt. "Families continue to move to Katy because of the quality learning opportunities our teachers and staff provide to each and every student.  This bond will help to ensure that our community's expectations for high educational standards and schools are maintained now, and well into the future."</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The District's 2017 bond comes with a zero tax rate increase and is designed to address fast growth and aging facilities. It includes six new schools, one comprehensive renovation, along with repairs and upgrades to 61 campuses.  Bond funds will also provide many campuses with safety and security improvements, and school expansions at Raines High School and Katy High School's Career and Technical Education program (CTE). Technology and infrastructure upgrades are also included for all Katy ISD schools, as well as replacement of aging buses and portables, and fuel storage tanks.  Ninety-one percent (91%) of bond funds will directly impact campuses and student learning.</p></div>
Katy ISD’s Partners in Education Kicks Off 15th Annual Food for Families CampaignKaty ISD’s Partners in Education Kicks Off 15th Annual Food for Families Campaign2017-11-07T15:33:31Z<div class="ExternalClass0214FBDF40A24DF39DC949870D0B1E5A"><p>​The<strong> </strong>Katy ISD Partners in Education's 15<sup>th</sup> Annual Food for Families has launched and the community is invited to support Katy ISD families in need this holiday season. <a href="/dept/pie/Pages/FoodForFamilies.aspx" target="_blank"><strong>Food for Families</strong></a> is an annual campaign that since 2003 has helped thousands of Katy ISD students and their families with grocery gift cards. Every Katy ISD campus identifies students in need of assistance, and the gift cards are given to those students before winter break. This long-standing program has helped thousands of families and Katy ISD Partners in Education hopes to this year touch even more.</p><p>Donations of any amount are welcomed and appreciated. The deadline to donate is <strong>December 7. </strong>To make a contribution online please <a href="https://www.pledgecents.com/cause/ywdgdd/katy-isd-food-for-families" target="_blank">click here</a>.
