Katy ISD Partners in Education Hosts KEYS Mentor Program KickoffKaty ISD Partners in Education Hosts KEYS Mentor Program Kickoff2018-09-11T13:11:56Z<div class="ExternalClass45149CE8378545A9B0AC57771B196027"><div>​Keep Encouraging Youth toward Success – KEYS – the Katy ISD mentor program, will kick off another successful year of mentoring on Friday, September 21, from 8-9:30 a.m. in the Merrell Center.  Katy ISD campus KEYS Liaisons will be on hand to answer questions and network with veteran mentors and community members interested in joining the KEYS program. </div><div><br></div><div>KEYS is a relationship, not a tutoring, program that matches a caring adult with a student on the brink of success. Mentors make a one-school-year commitment and meet with their students each week, on campus, during the school day, during the school year.  KEYS survey results show that on average 88% of KEYS students increased grades, 79% decreased absences and 88% decreased discipline referrals.</div><div><br></div><div>Over its 20-year-history, thousands of mentors have changed the trajectory of their KEYS student’s lives.  When school began, hundreds of Katy ISD students were waiting for a mentor of their own.  If you have ever thought about becoming a mentor, or if you are already a KEYS mentor, please join us at the KEYS Kickoff.  Please <a href="https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6KMWQRH">RSVP online​</a> today. For more information please contact Heather Sanders at 281.396.2468, or heatherasanders@katyisd.org.​</div><div></div></div>
