Twenty-Four Katy ISD Schools Earn Texas Honor Roll DistinctionTwenty-Four Katy ISD Schools Earn Texas Honor Roll Distinction2019-06-12T13:38:24Z<div class="ExternalClass48659A5DE8154C4FA5480B7ABA2B5E11"><p>What better way for Katy Independent School District to end the 2018-19 school year!  Out of its 65 campuses, Katy ISD is proud to announce that 24 of its schools were named a <em>Texas Honor Roll School</em> by the Educational Results Partnership (ERP).  <br></p><p>"Receiving this prestigious recognition is a clear demonstration of how hard work and dedication produces positive results.  Likewise, it's a reflection of the collaborative efforts taking place among our school leaders, staff, parents, students and the community who strive to increase academic achievement and improve educational outcomes for all our students," said Christine Caskey, Ed.D., Chief Academic Officer.<br> <br>The 2018-19 Texas Honor Roll includes:</p><ul><li>Alexander Elementary</li><li>Creech Elementary</li><li>Griffin Elementary</li><li>Holland Elementary </li><li>Kilpatrick Elementary</li><li>Randolph Elementary</li><li>Shafer Elementary</li><li>Stanley Elementary</li><li>Williams Elementary</li><li>Wilson Elementary</li><li>Wolman Elementary</li><li>Beck Junior High</li><li>Beckendorff Junior High</li><li>Katy Junior High</li><li>McMeans Junior High</li><li>Memorial Parkway Junior High</li><li>Seven Lakes Junior High</li><li>Tays Junior High</li><li>WoodCreek Junior High</li><li>Cinco Ranch High </li><li>Mayde Creek High </li><li>Seven Lakes High</li><li>Taylor High </li><li>Tompkins High</li></ul><p style="text-align:justify;">After an extensive analysis of student data, ERP found that these Katy ISD schools were clear leaders in getting students to grade level and beyond.  The 2018-19 Texas Honor Roll recognizes public elementary, middle and high schools that consistently demonstrate high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in student outcomes over time and a closing of the achievement gaps.  For high schools, the Texas Honor Roll recognition includes measures of college readiness.  This year, the program recognized 855 higher performing schools across the state.  These schools become an accepted example to other school districts seeking to learn and replicate the best practices employed at these campuses.</p><p>Katy ISD schools will be provided with a banner to display at their campus.<br></p><p><br></p></div>
Katy ISD VIPS CelebrationKaty ISD VIPS Celebration2019-05-14T18:48:30Z<div class="ExternalClass7209DF28F6084EF8A37E8461E2AE1231"><p><strong>Aidan Anderson returns to headline rescheduled Katy ISD VIPS Celebration on May 17</strong><strong><sup>th</sup></strong><strong>  </strong></p><p>Due to district closure from severe weather on May 10<sup>th</sup>, the Katy ISD Volunteer Celebration is rescheduled to Friday, May 17<sup>th</sup> at the Merrell Center from 8:45-10:30 a.m.  Hosted by Partners in Education and the Volunteers in Public Schools </p><p>Executive Board, this annual event honors the thousands of school district volunteers who donate their time and talents to our students and teachers.  </p><p>Aidan Anderson, co-founder of Aidan Cares, returns back to headline this year's volunteer celebration in addition to extraordinary fine arts entertainment from McMeans Junior High, Tays Junior High, Paetow High School, Seven Lakes High School and </p><p>Taylor High School along with the announcement of each school's 2019 Volunteer of the Year.  </p><p>All Katy<em> ISD </em>volunteers are invited to attend and will need to <em>RSVP </em>again for new guest count by May 16<sup>th</sup> at<em> </em><a href=""></a><em> or by</em> visiting "Partners in Education" under the "Community" tab at <a href="/"><em></em></a><em>.  </em>Doors will open at 8:45 a.m. and the program will begin at 9:15.  For more information about the event, volunteers should contact their campus VIPS Liaison or <a href=""><em></em></a>. </p><p>Volunteers in Public Schools, a Katy ISD Partners in Education program, offers moms, dads, family and community members a wide variety of volunteer opportunities at their chosen campus.  To learn more, visit Partners in Education on <a href="/"></a> or contact your campus Volunteer Coordinator.</p><p><img src="/PublishingImages/Lists/latestnews/AllItems/051719_VIPS_Celebration%20Flyer.jpg" alt="051719_VIPS_Celebration Flyer.jpg" style="margin:5px;width:500px;" /><br></p></div>
