The Hour of Code is a time where students are introduced to computer coding or computer programming. There are many resources that can be used at home if your student is interested. The non-profit organization, Common Sense Media, has a variety of coding resources (free and paid) for elementary, middle and high school-aged students. Parents or students can simply click on the age group to identify resources, https://www.commonsensemedia.org/lists/coding-apps-and-websites. Scratch, another free programming tool developed by MIT, has been used for many years and is geared for students aged 8-16 years, https://scratch.mit.edu/parents/.
