Wildcat Read, Deed, and Run Marathon

Read, Deed, and Run is an exciting, all-encompassing program for the whole child.

Students entering grades 3-5, will commit to a 26 week program in which they will read 26 books, perform 26 good deeds in the community, and run a total of 26.2 miles. Every other week the club will meet to discuss books, deeds, stretching, nutrition, and run 1-2 miles under the supervision of WME teachers and administrators.

The programs will culminate in May when the students run their final 1.2 miles in a “race” to earn their finisher’s t-shirt and medal.

Begins: September 20 with a mandatory parent meeting 6:15 pm in Gym
October 11th -first meeting with students
Ends: Final 1.2 miles on May 6th
Meet Day/Time: 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, 3:55-5:00
Fee: $30 -includes: training shirt, race fee, finisher’s shirt, finisher’s medal.

Nothing is more rewarding than finishing a marathon! WME students have the opportunity to not only run 26.2 miles. But to also foster a love of books, and give back to this wonderful community!!
