WoodCreek Elementary

Digital Citizenship

During the first two weeks of school, your child will learn about digital citizenship.  Depending on the grade level, this could include lessons on safety, cyberbullying, and safe searches.  Teachers will have discussions about responsibility, as well as safety.  As a community, it is important that we are proactive in this area; it is important that we remind our children that the online world is similar to real life situations when it comes to strangers and visiting safe places.  Below are Family Tip Sheets from commonsensemedia.org that can assist you in conversations with your child to encourage digital citizenship.
