Pizza Hut Reading Program
Students in grades K-5 are given reading calendars in the library during the months of October-March that will document the reading goal for that month. Students are asked to read for 20 minutes for a given number of days; the monthly calendar will give the reading goal for each month. Students who complete each month's goal will be given a coupon for a free personal pizza hut pizza!
This is a special tradition for our 3rd graders! Students are asked to read 5 books from different genres and document their reading. Students that complete this reading program will build a gingerbread house in December that they can take home to enjoy!
Six Flags Read to Succeed
To participate, students in grades K-5 need to read for fun for a total of six hours or 360 minutes. You can read books, magazines, newspapers, or comic books. Reading for homework or a class assignment does NOT count. The reading log will be sent home in January and will help you keep track of all your reading. When completed, return it to your teacher by the specified date to qualify for a free ticket to the Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme park.
Monopolize on Reading
Monopolize on Reading is a reading incentive program for all grades. The primary objectives are to promote reading and to reinforce life-long skills in using library resources. The students will read 8 different types of books listed on the monopoly sheet. Each grade level will have their own specific dates and incentives. Those will be announced throughout the year.
