Message from our New Principal, Mr. Morganhttp://www.katyisd.org/campus/THS/Lists/latestnews/DispForm.aspx?ID=301Message from our New Principal, Mr. Morgan2017-05-25T17:34:51Z
Dear Taylor Families and Community,

I know the school year is about to be over for the year, but I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Chris Morgan, and I am honored that Katy ISD has selected me as the new principal of Taylor High School. I welcome this incredible opportunity to serve the Taylor students, staff, parents and community. I look forward to working with the incredible staff, dedicated parents and involved community members. Most of all, I look forward to working with our students and continuing the outstanding traditions and culture of excellence. My goal is to work in partnership with you to ensure that all students are successful and ready for the next phase of their life after High School.

I know that Taylor has a great history of success, as well as some amazing leaders. Please know that my goal will be to continue building on what everyone has worked so hard to achieve, and to continue to build on the strong foundation that has been established. I want to see Taylor High School be one of the premier schools in the Nation. Together we will continue to provide outstanding educational opportunities and academic excellence for all of our students.

As for my background, I come to Taylor with twenty-two years in education. Nineteen of those twenty-two years have been as an administrator. I spent my first ten years in Irving ISD as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. In Fort Bend ISD I served as principal at four different schools, most recently as the principal at Kempner High School.

On a personal note, I have lived in Katy for two years, and I have lived in the Houston area for twelve years. My wife, Kara, is an assistant principal at Tompkins High School. I have three sons. Hunter is 22 and just graduated from Stephen F. Austin University and wants to be a teacher. Ryker is 10 and is about to be in Middle School, and my youngest, Sawyer, is four and will start Pre-K in the fall. Being a husband and father is one of my greatest joys.

I will be transitioning to Taylor around the middle of June. There is a lot of work to be done before the new school year begins. I will be setting up parent and booster organization meetings, so that I can have an opportunity to meet the Taylor community. Please feel free to email me or if you are up at the school during the summer stop by an introduce yourself. Visibility is important to me, and as part of my regular routine once school begins, you will find me out and about on campus and at school events. I look forward to the opportunity to meet and begin my relationship with the students, staff, and families of the Taylor High School community. Enjoy your summer break!!

It's a great day to be a Mustang!!

Chris Morgan
