​A competitive science team comprised of 7/8 graders that attend competitions that include events such as lab procedures, building objects, studying specific scientific concepts, and hybrid events that encompass several of these concepts.

​Scribe Tribe (Writing Club)
​Students will be sharing their pieces of writing (all types welcome) and offered various contests to submit writing to. In addition, students will have opportunities to write letters of encouragement to various people in the community.

​SLJH Book Club
​SLJH breakfast book club meets on Wednesday mornings in the library to discuss a book(s) that we have read. We select books as a group and meet until we complete the book. We will do several different books throughout the school year. Members can decide which book discussions they would like to participate in.

​Speech and Debate
​The SLJH Speech and Debate club allows students to compete in events at the middle school tournament level. Participants prepare for their events at the practices and are trained by SLHS Speech and Debate members. This club is open to all SLJH students and no prior knowledge is necessary. There is a $25 club fee.

​Trading Card Club
​Students will create their own trading cards and "battle" it out amongst friends!
