Spring STAAR EOC 2019
The STAAR test dates for April and May testing are as follows:
|STAAR EOC||Test Date|
|English I||Tuesday, April 9, 2019|
|English II||Thursday, April 11, 2019|
|Algebra I||Monday, May 6, 2019|
|US History||Wednesday, May 8, 2019|
|Biology||Thursday, May 9, 2019|
Students are required to achieve "approaches grade level," "meets grade level," or "masters grade level" on all five of the EOC assessments [English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology, and US History] in order to meet Texas testing graduation requirements.
Students enrolled at SLHS will automatically be enrolled for testing. Students not testing will attend their regular classes.
Students who attend Miller Career & Technology Center:
If you are scheduled to take an EOC test, you WILL NOT go to Miller first. You will come to SLHS. Miller knows that you are coming to your home campus to test.
APRIL: If you are NOT scheduled to take English I or English II EOC, you will follow your regular schedule at SLHS and Miller.
MAY: If you are NOT scheduled to take Algebra I, US History and/or Biology EOC, you will follow the alternate bell schedule (see attached). Continue to watch eNews and listed announcements for more information closer to the testing week.
SLHS will be a closed campus for all five test dates.
Please be mindful when scheduling appointments on these dates, as students who are involved in testing will not be permitted to leave their testing room for off-campus appointments during the test."
Testing Room Assignments
Testing rooms will be assigned and posted in the hallways by 3:00 PM the day prior to each EOC test.
What to bring to the test
- Two #2 pencils
- A book to read when they are finished testing (must be a NOVEL, NOT a textbook, magazine, puzzle book or any other instructional material)
- April – Students who are NOT involved with English I or English II testing will follow the regular bell schedule on those days. The lunch schedule for students who are testing will be at different times than the regular lunch schedule. All testers will eat in the 9th-grade cafeteria on test days.
May – SLHS will follow a modified bell schedule on May 6th, 8th and 9th for EOC testing. See the attached schedule.
