AP courses are generally available to juniors and seniors at each of the Katy ISD high schools. AP courses provide students the opportunity to engage in college level studies with the option of taking an AP exam and possibly qualifying for college credit. In addition, research indicates that students who participate in an Advanced Placement course are more likely to complete an undergraduate program, more likely to choose academically challenging majors in college and more likely to pursue an advanced degree. Katy ISD offers Advanced Placement courses in the following disciplines – English, social studies, science, mathematics, languages other than English, computer science, music and art.
